On February 5, 2018, I decided to retire from public education a year earlier then planned and 10 days later I gave my early notification. After 17 years of teaching and almost 30 working in the child and adolescent mental health field, with CASA and CPS I decided to check my own mental health. That is frightening stuff people. I was now on the path to begin full time RV living... which I had researched for more than a year, which does not prepare you for the REAL DEAL! Hell ya I have always been a little impulsive and spontaneous and just went for what seemed to be my next path in life.
Getting everything in order was stressful and life altering, but by golly it happened... buying back service time, blending pension plans, purging 90 percent of my belongings, evicting my 19 year old son so I could prepare to list and sell my home, purchasing an RV, a different car to tow, etc. All that and more happened in the fast and furious next four months. I'm hoping this new adventure helps me to discover who I am if I'm not putting all my energy into teaching and coaching . I'm blessed with two healthy grown sons , so I am going to take this time to be free from obligations and a schedule. I am going to try to write and rediscover my love for photography. I'm also going to see if I have what it takes to conquer the crazy unfamiliar anxiety I have been victim to for the last three weeks. Follow me and see where the road takes me and my nerves.
I needed a name for this here blog, and as a good friend referenced the last few months of my life, she said "buckle up!" That was a great descriptor of not just the last four months but pretty much my life, so it was perfect. In naming my new rig (RV home) I decided Babie was also apropos since one of my all time favorite characters in cinema was Frances Houseman aka "Baby" in Dirty Dancing. So what if it is corny, she was an independent young woman doing her own thing long before it was popular and I admired her for it and I love love love that movie, so it is all good.
I will share my journey through my pictures, from the phone camera and my real one. I hope you enjoy them and if not keep it to yourself.
